About this opportunity

The Dallas Area Rapid Transit Authority (DART) is seeking to procure two 275-gallon caged totes of Potassium Acetate KA-50 de-icer solution for use at its Rowlett and Northwest Regional Operations Facility (NWROF) maintenance facilities. This purchase order is specifically for winter maintenance operations, with potassium acetate selected for its significantly lower corrosiveness to metal infrastructure compared to traditional sodium-based brine solutions. The procurement is located in Dallas County, Texas, with a posted date of December 17, 2025, and a response due date of January 7, 2026. Vendors must register through the Bonfire system to access complete bid details and must submit proposals reflecting FOB Destination shipping terms, with freight costs included in the overall price. Key delivery requirements stipulate that time and rate of deliveries are essential, and failure to meet specified delivery schedules could result in order rejection and default termination by DART.

No specific set-aside designations or restrictions for disadvantaged enterprises were explicitly mentioned in the procurement documents. The purchase order does not list incumbent vendors or require integration with existing infrastructure beyond the specified maintenance facilities. While no precise award value was detailed, the procurement involves two 275-gallon totes of de-icer solution, suggesting a relatively moderate-scale purchase. DART will apply standard payment terms of Net 30, with invoices to be submitted in triplicate to APInvoices@dart.org and containing specific details such as purchase order number, item descriptions, quantities, and pricing information. All purchase orders are subject to DART's standard Terms and Conditions, which include provisions for contract modifications, dispute resolution, and compliance with Texas state legal requirements. Vendors must also provide products of merchantable quality suitable for the intended de-icing application, particularly for use at newly constructed Silver Line Rail Stations.

In such event, the Seller shall be liable for damages, including the excess cost of reprocuring similar supplies or services or completing construction; provided that, if (i) it is determined for any reason that the Seller was not in default, or (ii) the Seller's failure to perform is without his and his subcontractor's control, fault, or negligence, the termination shall be deemed to be a termination for convenience under paragraph 12.
