About this opportunity

The Pinellas County School District is seeking architectural and engineering design services for a comprehensive remodel and renovation of Pinellas Park High School. The Request for Qualifications (RFQ) solicits proposals for extensive facility improvements, including a new front entrance, administration suite construction, classroom renovations, media center updates, and multiple infrastructure enhancements. Specific renovation elements include new ceilings, floors, lighting, paint, roofing, restroom remodels, security camera additions, and updates to spaces such as the gymnasium, music building, and auditorium. Firms will be evaluated using a 100-point scoring system that assesses financial responsibility, references, firm location, experience, and previous performance with Pinellas County Schools. The procurement will be conducted electronically through the District's OpenGov Procurement portal, with qualifications due by 3:00 pm on June 4, 2025. The selection process will involve an initial scoring of submissions, with a minimum of three firms shortlisted and subsequently invited to provide presentations and potentially participate in a project walkthrough.

No specific set-aside designations or restrictions for disadvantaged enterprises were explicitly mentioned in the procurement documents. Interested firms will need to meet comprehensive insurance requirements, including general liability, automotive liability, and workers' compensation coverage with varying minimums based on contract value. Contracts under $500,000 require $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 general aggregate, while contracts $500,000 and over require $1,000,000 per occurrence and $5,000,000 general aggregate. The procurement contact for this solicitation is Joe Benjamin, who can be reached at benjaminst@pcsb.org. While a specific budget range was not disclosed, the extensive scope of renovations suggests a significant investment in modernizing and improving the high school's facilities. Firms interested in responding must register on the OpenGov Procurement portal to ensure they receive all subsequent notifications and addenda related to the solicitation.
