The project encompasses comprehensive drainage infrastructure improvements, including construction of a 5'x3' triple box culvert spanning 60 linear feet, along with associated civil engineering elements such as headwalls, wingwalls, aprons, rip-rap, asphalt replacement, 24-inch curb and gutter, concrete flume, erosion control measures, stream bypass, road signage, and striping. The total project timeline is sixty calendar days, with bidders required to submit a bid bond or certified cashier's check for 10% of the base bid amount. Contract documents are available from Parker Engineering, LLC in Statesboro, Georgia for a non-refundable fee of $150 per full-size set. Bidders cannot withdraw submissions for sixty days following the bid closing date, and the city reserves the right to reject any bid deemed non-responsive or not in the project's best interest.

Funding for this infrastructure project will be jointly provided by the City of Claxton and FEMA, indicating potential federal grant involvement. No specific set-aside designations for disadvantaged businesses are explicitly mentioned in the documentation. Bidders must comply with E-Verify regulations and demonstrate financial capability, with successful contractors required to provide Performance and Payment Bonds each equal to 100% of the contract price. While no specific budget range is detailed, the comprehensive scope of work suggests a significant municipal infrastructure investment. Bidders must be from a surety company licensed in Georgia with an "A" minimum rating and financial strength at least five times the contract price. The procurement process emphasizes competitive bidding and maintains flexibility for the city to select the most qualified and advantageous proposal for completing the drainage improvement project.
