About this opportunity

The State of Maine Division of Purchases is soliciting quotes for pheasants for Region A, with electronic submission due May 2, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. local time.

Awards will be made on best value to the state, evaluated on quality, conformity to specifications, delivery dates, and overall economy. The state reserves the right to reject any or all quotes, waive formalities, and increase or decrease quantities by up to 10%. In case of tied bids, preference is given to in-state bidders or those offering commodities produced or manufactured in Maine.

Bidders must submit unit prices for each item delivered to destination with all discounts included. All transportation charges, including freight and express mail, must be prepaid by the contractor unless otherwise specified. Cash discounts of 20 days or more are considered in bid evaluation; discounts under 20 days are not. Bidders must specify delivery terms and cash discount periods, with discount time computed from the later of delivery date or correct invoice receipt.

Bidders may submit alternate commodity proposals if accompanied by complete identification and descriptive literature. The State of Maine is exempt from federal and Maine state sales and use taxes; quotes should exclude these taxes. Contractors must comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations, including the Maine Chemical Substance Identification Law requiring material safety data sheets for hazardous chemicals. In case of contractor default, the state reserves the right to procure materials from alternative sources and charge excess costs to the contractor.

Pheasant specifications are detailed in the attached Pheasant specs.pdf document.
