About this opportunity

Pinellas County School District is soliciting electronic bids for a comprehensive pesticide procurement through Invitation to Bid (ITB) No. 25-JG-056. The solicitation covers 62 line items of pesticides, herbicides, insecticides, and related products, including ant baits, roach control, fly traps, and rodent control treatments. Electronic bids are due by 3:00 pm on July 21, 2025, through the District's OpenGov Procurement portal, with a contract period spanning August 23, 2025, to August 22, 2026, and potential renewals for two additional one-year periods. Bidders must provide Safety Data Sheets and Product Labels, comply with E-Verify employment eligibility requirements, and submit comprehensive pricing for various chemical treatments. The district will evaluate bids based on pricing, product specifications, and compliance with detailed procurement requirements, with the ability to award by aggregate total, individual line item, or item group. Potential bidders are strongly encouraged to register on the procurement portal to receive automatic notifications and addenda updates.

The procurement allows for multi-agency participation, enabling other governmental entities to potentially utilize the contract terms. Bidders must meet specific insurance requirements, including maintaining General Liability Insurance with $1,000,000 per occurrence, Automotive Liability Insurance with $300,000 combined single limit, and Workers' Compensation Insurance with statutory coverage. The estimated contract value is approximately $150,000 per year, with provisions for price adjustments not exceeding the Consumer Price Index at each renewal period. No specific set-aside designations or restrictions for disadvantaged enterprises were explicitly mentioned in the documentation. The district reserves the right to consider pricing established by the State of Florida Department of Management Services and will evaluate bids based on comprehensive criteria. Bidders must also be prepared to comply with a detailed bid protest procedure, which includes posting a bond equal to 1% of the total estimated contract value, with minimum and maximum thresholds of $500 and $5,000 respectively.
