About this opportunity
The Georgia Department of Transportation is seeking bids for pavement preservation and maintenance services on Iris Drive/I-20 Access Road in District 7 (Rockdale County) under ITB Form 48400-DOT0003549, with bids due May 28, 2026. This solicitation is limited to pre-qualified firms holding a Maintenance Master Services Agreement (MMSA) awarded under GDOT's prior Request for Qualified Contractors process for Pavement Preservation and Maintenance Services — a restrictive eligibility gate that eliminates non-prequalified bidders.
The scope includes approximately 1.5-inch depth milling and inlay with 12.5 MM Superpave asphalt concrete across approximately 165,753 square yards over roughly 5.5 miles, plus traffic control as a lump-sum item, tack coat application, and thermoplastic pavement markings and raised pavement markers. Work spans GPS coordinates 33.696133, -84.081052 to 33.628584, -83.952105. Work must begin no later than 30 days after the prework meeting and complete within 90 days, with a mandatory 50 percent completion milestone at 45 days. Bidders must submit unit prices and extended line totals on the provided bid form. The contractor must comply with GDOT Standard Specifications, Qualified Products List requirements, traffic control per MUTCD, Georgia Security and Immigration Compliance Act affidavit requirements, and sexual harassment prevention training.
A Georgia Resident, Small Business, or Georgia Resident Small Business bidder may elect to price match within 5 percent or $10,000 of the lowest responsive and responsible bid. The successful contractor must provide Performance and Payment Bonds each equal to 100 percent of the award price, issued by a surety authorized in Georgia with an A.M. Best rating of A- or better. Written questions are due April 20, 2026 at 2:00 PM, with responses by April 22 at 5:00 PM. The Notice of Award will be issued approximately two weeks after bid closing. No Federal-Aid Highway Program funds are used for this contract.
