P23-1508 RFQ cotton plugs

The State of California, through the California Department of Food & Agriculture (CDFA), is seeking quotes for the procurement of cotton plugs to be used in exotic fruit fly traps. The cotton plugs serve as the medium to hold the insect pheromone lure and a small amount of pesticide within the trap. The RFQ requests 60 cases of cotton plugs, 1/2" diameter x 2" length, to be delivered to a specified location. Responses are due by 5:00 PM PT on May 7, 2024, and the award will be based on an "All or None" basis. The contract will be for an unspecified delivery timeframe, with a required delivery date provided in the bid response. Pricing terms must include freight, shipping, and handling costs in the unit pricing.

The RFQ outlines various preference programs, such as for certified small businesses, microbusinesses, and disabled veteran business enterprises, as well as subcontractor requirements. Funding for this procurement may include federal sources, in which case the vendor must provide a Unique Entity Identification (UEI) number. The previous supplier for this item was Pat Haley Sales, who was awarded a contract totaling $23,705.00. CDFA procures these cotton plugs annually, and the requested item and size are necessary to meet the requirements of the exotic fruit fly traps. No alternative sizes or products will be accepted.
