About this file
This document is an Addendum to a Request for Quote (RFQ) issued by the California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) for cotton plugs. The cotton plugs are used in exotic fruit fly traps to hold the insect pheromone lure and a small amount of pesticide. The RFQ specifies that the cotton plugs must be a specific size to properly contain the lure without dripping. The addendum provides answers to five questions related to the quantity of cotton plugs per case, the availability of product photos, the manufacturer item number, previous procurements of this item by CDFA, and the acceptability of an alternative cotton roll product.
The previous supplier for this item was Pat Haley Sales, who was awarded a contract totaling $23,705.00. CDFA procures these cotton plugs annually, and the requested item and size are necessary to meet the requirements of the exotic fruit fly traps. No alternative sizes or products will be accepted, as they would not properly contain the lure and could lead to contamination and ineffective traps.
