About this opportunity
The Town of Suffield, located in Hartford County, Connecticut, is soliciting proposals for Owner's Project Management Planning and Advisory Services to support a November 2026 Town Referendum focused on upgrading the Suffield Middle School and Firehouse #1. The procurement seeks a qualified firm with demonstrated expertise in evaluating facility modernization options, specifically analyzing whether to renovate or construct new facilities. Key objectives include a comprehensive review of the 2022 Facilities Master Plan, understanding the Office of School Construction Grants and Connecticut Department of Education grant processes, and providing strategic guidance on capital improvements. The solicitation requires vendors to demonstrate thorough knowledge of educational facility planning and municipal infrastructure development. A mandatory pre-proposal conference is scheduled for July 17, 2025, at 9:00 am at Suffield Town Hall, with proposal submissions accepted from July 9, 2025, to August 15, 2025. The primary contact for this opportunity is Lee Corbert, Director of Public Works, who can be reached at LCorbert@suffieldct.gov.
While the solicitation documentation does not explicitly mention specific set-aside designations or restrictions for disadvantaged enterprises, the RFP appears open to all qualified vendors with appropriate experience in municipal and educational facility planning. The procurement does not indicate information about incumbent vendors or existing technology infrastructure that might require integration. No specific budget range or award value is explicitly stated in the available documentation, suggesting that pricing and financial details will be part of the vendor's proposal. The Town has clearly prioritized the Middle School and Fire Headquarters as the primary focus for potential upgrades, indicating a significant commitment to infrastructure improvement. Delivery terms are specified as Free On Board Destination, with payment terms to be defined by the selected vendor. The successful firm will be expected to provide comprehensive planning services that support the Town's referendum and potential facility modernization efforts.
