About this opportunity
The City of Redding, California, through Redding Electric Utility's Power Production Division, is soliciting proposals for the off-site overhaul of two boiler feedwater pumps, motors, and valves used at the Redding Power Plant (Schedule Number 5740). A mandatory site visit and pre-submittal conference is set for November 5, 2026 at 10:00 a.m., questions are due November 9, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. PT, and proposals are due December 4, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. PT.
Proposers must submit one original unbound paper proposal, one bound copy, and one USB flash drive with a PDF copy. Costs and fees go in a separate sealed envelope listing Project Costs and Fee Schedule. Proposals must be delivered by surface mail or by hand to the City Clerk's office at 777 Cypress Avenue, Redding, California 96001, because fax and electronic submissions are not permitted. Proposals open at the same time in a designated City Hall conference room.
Contractors are expected to add scope items they judge beneficial, and each addition or modification must be noted as a deviation from the request for proposal. Work must minimize cost and keep the project schedule intact. The equipment is expected to be available for initial removal in March or April 2027, and it must return on-site within approximately 21 days of removal and shipping. Reinstallation and commissioning will be coordinated with parallel outage work at the plant.
Written questions go to Tyler Nash, Utility Analyst, at tnash@cityofredding.gov. Any resulting contract will be awarded consistent with the City Purchasing Ordinance.
