About this opportunity
The Macomb County Purchasing Department in Michigan is soliciting sealed bids for a one-time purchase of traffic control equipment through Invitation to Bid (ITB) 25-26. The procurement seeks to acquire specific quantities of traffic control items, including 75 Type II barricades with base, 45 28-inch orange traffic cones with 10-pound base, 100 42-inch orange grabber cones with 10-pound base, and 26 8-foot Type III barricades. All items must conform to Michigan Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MMUTCD) standards and be NCHRP 350/MASH compliant, with specific requirements for reflective sheeting and dimensional specifications. Bids are due on May 15, 2025, at 10:00 AM local time, with a virtual bid opening scheduled. Delivery will be made to three service centers located in Clinton Township, New Haven, and Shelby Township, with strict delivery restrictions between 7:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, requiring 24-hour advance notice. Bidders must provide detailed manufacturer part numbers and complete a comprehensive bid form with unit prices for each item at each delivery location.
The solicitation does not explicitly mention specific set-aside designations or restrictions for disadvantaged enterprises. Bidders must complete several mandatory forms, including a vendor disclosure form, non-collusion affidavit, and certification of compliance with the Iran Economic Sanctions Act. The county reserves the right to split the purchase by line item and/or location, indicating flexibility in the award process. Packaging requirements are stringent, with all items needing to be prepared for forklift unloading, and failure to meet these specifications will result in shipment rejection and return at the supplier's expense. While a specific budget range is not disclosed, the comprehensive nature of the procurement suggests a potentially significant contract value. Bidders must demonstrate technical compliance with detailed specifications and provide competitive pricing across multiple traffic control equipment categories. The procurement appears focused on securing high-quality, standardized traffic control equipment for county infrastructure and maintenance operations.
