About this opportunity
The Frontier Culture Museum of Virginia (FCMV) is seeking to establish a two-year contract, with three one-year renewal options, for on-site 24-hour security services through a competitive Request for Proposals (RFP) process. The selected contractor will be responsible for providing security guard services at the museum's campus, which includes three main buildings and eleven outdoor living history areas. Key requirements include staffing levels, officer qualifications, duties, equipment, and training. Pricing is requested for both armed and unarmed security officers, and the contract will be awarded to the offeror deemed fully qualified and to have submitted the best proposal. A mandatory pre-proposal conference will be held on March 28, 2024, and proposals are due by 2:00 pm on May 2, 2024.
The Commonwealth of Virginia encourages participation from small, women-owned, and minority-owned businesses certified by the Department of Small Business and Supplier Diversity. The current security provider, Admiral Security, has provided service for the past 5 years at a rate of $20.50 per hour for captain and officers, with annual increases based on the CPI-other services index. The RFP does not specify a budget range, but the contract is expected to be a significant opportunity for qualified security service providers in the Martinsville City area.
