About this opportunity
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is procuring an On-Board Sound Intensity (OBSI) System to measure tire-pavement noise interaction at highway speeds and assess noise levels on department roadways. The system must have integrated Global Positioning System (GPS) and Distance Measuring Instrument (DMI) capabilities. FDOT has identified AVEC, Inc. as the sole source for this system, as no other vendors offer a system with the required GPS and DMI integration. Prospective vendors have until 5:00 p.m. (EST) on Friday, February 9, 2024, to provide information regarding their ability to supply the requested system. FDOT has justified the single source acquisition due to the outdated and obsolete nature of the current system, and the lack of other vendors offering a system with the necessary features.
This is a single source procurement, and FDOT has indicated that it will post notice of its intended decision to enter into a single source purchase contract on the Vendor Information Portal if it is determined that the services are only available from a single source. The estimated dollar amount for the OBSI System is $39,000. FDOT has not specified any set-aside designations or restrictions on the types of organizations that can respond, and has not listed any incumbent vendors or current contractors.
