About this opportunity
The City of Newark, New Jersey is seeking electronic bids for a comprehensive office furniture and installation project (Bid #2025-62) through its e-Procurement Portal ProcureNow. The procurement involves acquiring 24 remanufactured workstations, 6 private office L-shape desks, 12 private office guest chairs, 1 reception desk, 4 reception lounge chairs, 1 reception coffee table, and 31 surface-mounted power units for the Department of Administration/Office of Information Technology. The installation will occur at 375 McCarter Highway on the 3rd floor, with vendors required to submit detailed pricing proposals including unit costs and all shipping and handling expenses. Bidders must provide a proposed layout and ensure all products are remanufactured and of good quality, with manufacturer warranties covering all items. Key deadlines include August 6, 2025, for submitting questions and August 12, 2025, at 10:15 am as the firm bid submission deadline. The City reserves the right to award multiple contracts, selecting vendors based on lowest itemized costs and potential response time, with all deliveries expected during normal business hours (8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.).
The procurement opportunity includes several compliance requirements that may restrict vendor participation. Bidders must complete mandatory forms such as Equal Employment Opportunity Language, Americans with Disabilities Act Certification, and a Prohibited Russia-Belarus and Iran Investment Activities Certification. Vendors must disclose ownership structures, potential criminal convictions, and political contributions, demonstrating a comprehensive vetting process. The contract appears to have no specific set-aside designations for disadvantaged enterprises, but requires extensive documentation proving ethical business practices. While a specific budget range is not explicitly stated, the detailed itemization suggests a potentially substantial investment in office furniture and installation. Vendors must be prepared to provide comprehensive documentation, including a W-9 form, and meet stringent compliance standards across multiple municipal ordinances. The procurement emphasizes transparency, legal compliance, and thorough vendor evaluation beyond just pricing considerations.
