About this opportunity

Otero College, a Colorado state institution in Morgan County, is soliciting a documented quote for athletic training services for its intercollegiate athletics program, with written inquiries due August 5, 2026 by 2:00 PM MT and quote submissions due August 10, 2026 by 2:00 PM MT; the anticipated award date is August 12, 2026.

Respondents must hold current Board of Certification (BOC) certification and an unrestricted Colorado Athletic Trainer license, current CPR/AED/First Aid certifications, legal authorization to conduct business in Colorado, professional liability insurance, and documented experience providing athletic training services to organized athletic programs. The scope encompasses injury prevention, evaluation, emergency care, treatment, rehabilitation, and return-to-play management for student-athletes, including coverage of practices, home athletic contests, and designated evening and weekend events. Services require coordination with the Athletic Director, coaching staff, and team physicians. The College provides all equipment and supplies; the contractor does not need to establish independent physician relationships, as Otero College has secured partnership physician oversight through Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center. Travel to away competitions is not required; travel to potential playoff games is optional and preferred but not mandatory. The College maintains a $4,000 annual supplies budget for the contract.

The contract term runs from August 12, 2026 through May 31, 2027, with the College reserving the right to renew or extend for additional periods subject to satisfactory performance, mutual agreement, and funding availability. Pricing must be submitted as a single annual fixed price covering all costs—labor, personnel, travel, equipment, supplies, insurance, overhead, and administrative expenses—with pricing remaining firm throughout the initial term. Submission requirements include a signed cover letter, company and personnel qualifications with copies of licenses and certifications, at least three professional references from the past five years, proof of insurance upon request, and disclosure of any exceptions to requirements or conflicts of interest. The previous Athletic Trainer served eight years before departing in late summer; the position has remained vacant due to lack of applicant interest despite advertising through NCAA Market, SACN Network, and WorkInSports.
