About this opportunity

The Oakland Township Sewer Fund, in conjunction with the Water Resources Commissioner, is seeking a contractor for the 2025 Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation Program located in Macomb County, Michigan. The primary procurement involves Cured-In-Place Pipelining of approximately 3,532 linear feet of existing 18-inch diameter sanitary sewer within two residential subdivisions: Country Creek and The Crossings. The project is specifically focused on sewer infrastructure rehabilitation in Section 30 of the township, with potential multi-year expansion contingent on future change orders. Contractors must demonstrate strict compliance with Michigan Occupational Safety & Health Administration (MIOSHA) safety standards and provide a qualified safety person to oversee job site safety. The contract posting was made on June 10, 2025, with proposals due by July 8, 2025. Bidders are required to submit comprehensive safety certification documentation and demonstrate expertise in municipal sewer rehabilitation techniques. The evaluation will likely emphasize technical capability, safety protocols, and unit pricing with potential future year escalation rates.

While no specific set-aside designations or disadvantaged enterprise requirements are explicitly mentioned in the documentation, contractors must meet rigorous safety compliance standards to be considered. The project does not indicate incumbent vendors or specific technology integration requirements. The base bid covers the 2025 work year, with potential future extensions solely at the discretion of the City and Water Resources Commissioner. Although a precise budget range is not specified, the project involves significant infrastructure work in two residential subdivisions, suggesting a substantial contract value. Future work, if authorized, would follow the unit pricing and escalation rates established in the original bid. Contractors should be prepared for potential multi-year engagement, understanding that additional work is not guaranteed and will be issued through change orders at the municipal authority's discretion. The project represents a strategic approach to ongoing municipal sewer infrastructure maintenance and rehabilitation.
