About this opportunity
The State of Colorado is soliciting bids for the OAAA 2010 Zulu Sign Project at Buckley Air Force Space Force Base, involving design and installation of FAA-compliant LED airfield guidance signage for Taxiway Z, with proposals due August 26, 2026.
The scope encompasses removal of five existing sign arrays (18-foot by 4-foot by 12-inch deep concrete bases) and installation of new L-858 LED signs in 3-step or 5-step configurations at the Z Pad/Taxiway intersection, Runway/Taxiway Z intersection (north and south directional arrays), Z Apron, and surrounding areas. All signs must comply with FAA standards including L-858Y(L), L-858R(L), L-858L(L), L-858H(L), and L-858B(L) per AC 150/5345-44 and FAA Engineering Brief No. 67, and must be ETL certified. Signs require non-ferrous aluminum frames with stainless-steel hardware, retroreflective sheeting, impact-resistant modified acrylic legend panels, lightning protection compliant with FAA Engineering Brief No. 67D and ANSI/IEEE C62.41-1991, external grounding lugs, and tethers on all legs with no external power switches. Signage must be compatible with both ferroresonant and thyristor constant current regulators operating on 2.8 to 6.6 amperes across all CCR steps. The contractor must submit sign legend proofs to 140th Civil Engineering for review and approval prior to ordering.
Performance is at Buckley Air Force Space Force Base, Colorado. The procurement incorporates federal contract provisions under Exhibit A and Colorado Purchase Order Terms and Conditions under Exhibit B, requiring federal compliance including Davis-Bacon Act and Uniform Guidance provisions where applicable. Vendors must maintain commercial general liability insurance of at least $1 million and workers' compensation as required by Colorado statute. Payment will be remitted within 45 days of invoice acceptance.
