About this opportunity
Collier County Procurement Services Division has issued a Notice of Intent to Single Source Symbiont Service Corp for Symbiont heater and cooler units, parts, services, and repairs supporting county-owned aquatic facilities, with a deadline to contest the designation by August 13, 2026 at 3:00 p.m.
This is a sole-source procurement. Symbiont Service Corp is the exclusive distributor of the Symbiont GeoThermal Pool/Spa heater, which AquaCal manufactures exclusively to Symbiont specifications and sells only to Symbiont. Symbiont installed the units and holds factory-authorized status for all parts and service. Unauthorized repairs void the five-year labor and seven-year parts warranty, making Symbiont the sole qualified provider for ongoing maintenance and repairs.
Collier County Parks and Recreation currently operates 54 Symbiont Geothermal Pool and Spa Heater units across five facilities: Golden Gate Aquatic Facility, Immokalee Sports Complex, Donna Fiala Eagle Lakes Community Park, Sun-N-Fun Lagoon, and Big Corkscrew Island Regional Park. The heaters are critical to maintaining required water temperatures at these county pools.
The proposed contract term runs October 1, 2026 through September 30, 2031. No contract value is estimated in this notice. Interested parties may contest the single-source designation in writing through the Collier County Procurement Services Division Online Bidding System at https://procurement.opengov.com/portal/collier-county-fl. Contact: Jasmine Martinez, Strategist I, jasmine.martinez@collier.gov or (239) 252-8465.
