About this opportunity
The State of Michigan, through the Department of Technology, Management and Budget (DTMB) State Facilities Administration, is procuring design-build services for ventilation upgrades and repairs at the Upper Peninsula Geological Repository (UPGR) facility located in Gwinn, Michigan. The scope of work includes providing and installing a new 5,000 CFM make-up air unit, an exhaust system in the storage warehouse, maintenance of existing gas-fired wall units, replacement of the existing energy recovery ventilator (ERV) in the office area, installation of weather stripping and door closers, and coordination with the gas utility. The project also requires commissioning of the new systems. A mandatory pre-bid meeting is scheduled for April 4, 2024, and bids are due on April 17, 2024, at 2:00 pm Eastern time. The contract completion date is November 30, 2024.
The procurement is open to all qualified design-build firms, but the contract will be awarded to the responsive and responsible best value bidder. There are no set-aside designations or restrictions on the types of organizations that can respond. The project is funded by the state and requires a 5% bid security. The solicitation lists specific NIGP codes related to the requested products and services. Bidders must submit qualifications and other bid submittals for projects over $250,000. The contract will be a not-to-exceed design-build contract with compensation based on actual costs plus overhead, profit, and management fees. Prevailing wages apply, and the contractor must comply with state requirements for minority hiring, nondiscrimination, and other labor standards.
