About this opportunity
Gatesville Independent School District is requesting proposals for installation of a new fire alarm and voice evacuation system at its Primary Campus facility, with sealed proposals due June 5, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. and a mandatory pre-bid conference on June 1, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. at 308 Hornet Way, Gatesville, Texas.
The scope includes design, supply, installation, labor, materials, equipment, programming, testing, commissioning, and training for a fully addressable, code-compliant fire alarm system meeting NFPA standards and local code requirements. Deliverables encompass fire alarm control panels, remote annunciators, initiating devices, notification appliances, voice evacuation components, wiring, and final documentation. The district will provide 120VAC dedicated circuits, lift access for ceilings over 10 feet, and conduit pathways; bidders must supply all remaining labor and materials for complete installation. Optional pricing for a Bi-Directional Amplifier survey is requested if required by the Authority Having Jurisdiction.
Evaluation criteria include price, vendor location, reputation, quality of goods and services, alignment with district needs, past relationship with the district, RFP compliance, impact on historically underutilized business requirements, project schedule and on-time completion ability, and warranty information. Price is a factor but not sole determinant. Written clarification requests are due by close of business on June 2, 2026, to Toby Williams, Director of Maintenance, at twilliams@gatesvilleisd.org. The school board will make award decisions on June 8, 2026 at 5:30 p.m.
Bids must remain firm for 60 days from award. All freight costs must be included in unit pricing. The district is tax-exempt and will not accept charges beyond the bid price. All equipment is subject to standard manufacturer's warranty, and the contractor must replace defective items at no cost to the district. Mandatory compliance submissions include Proposer Information Response Form, three references from similar organizations, Resident/Nonresident Certification, Anti-Collusion Statement, Conflict of Interest Questionnaire, Certificate of Interested Parties (Form 1295), criminal history certifications, House Bill 89 (Israel boycott) verification, and Senate Bill 252 (terrorist organization) certification.
