About this opportunity
The Texas Department of Public Safety is requesting bids on a five-year maintenance plan for DriveWyze license plate readers at the Centerville Weigh Station facility supporting the Smart Roadside Inspection System (SRIS) Program, with bids due June 18, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. Central Time and anticipated award on June 24, 2026.
The scope includes scheduled maintenance, unplanned repairs, software services, and extended warranty coverage for roadside equipment and software. Annual pricing is required for each fiscal year period from September 1, 2026 through August 31, 2031, submitted on a mandatory pricing schedule. DPS guarantees no minimum compensation and issues payments only when the Contract Monitor approves commodities or services and authorizes invoice submission. The contract operates on an as-needed, as-requested basis.
The contract term is five years commencing on the effective date and expiring August 31, 2031, with a potential extension for no more than six months. Bidders must provide evidence of financial resources and ability to perform, including audited financial statements for the previous two years or equivalent documentation of financial stability. Insurance requirements specify coverage necessary for proper contract performance and liability coverage through financially sound insurers licensed by the Texas Department of Insurance.
Vendors previously awarded separate DPS contracts need not resubmit the Direct Deposit Authorization Form or W-9 if these documents are already on file. Electronic responses must be submitted to DPS_Solicit_Response@dps.texas.gov or via the DPS Online Bid Room; technical difficulties with electronic submission do not constitute grounds for protest. The contract administrator is Angie Johnson (281-517-1271; Angelynn.johnson@dps.texas.gov), and the contract monitor is Captain Oscar Luna. All contract amendments must be executed in writing by authorized representatives of both parties. The contract is non-exclusive, and DPS retains the right to terminate for convenience with 30 days' notice or for failure to perform upon written default notice.
