About this opportunity
Northview Public Schools in Grand Rapids, Michigan is requesting trade contractor bids for an Athletic Stadium Addition & Renovation project at 4451 Hunsberger Avenue NE, with bids due November 3, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. ET via Procore Bidding and a mandatory pre-bid walkthrough on October 6, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. This is not a prevailing wage project.
The scope encompasses multiple trade packages including selective demolition, cast-in-place concrete, masonry, structural steel, roofing, aluminum framing and glazing, metal stud/drywall, flooring, painting, plumbing, HVAC, electrical work, excavation and utilities, asphalt work, landscaping, synthetic turf installation with drain tile, all-weather track surfacing, and fencing and netting. The bid clarification document specifies that soccer and lacrosse goals will be furnished and installed by the owner, not contractors. Alternates requested include bleacher curb turf anchors, netting replacement, turf weight options (46 oz versus 52 oz), and comprehensive demolition and removal of existing turf, base materials, and drainage systems. Bidders must reference specific drawing sheets and specification sections for technical requirements.
Bids must remain firm for ninety days from opening. Bid security equal to five percent of the base bid is required, submitted as a bid bond, certified check, or cashier's check. Performance and labor and material payment bonds covering 100% of contract value must be provided within fifteen days of award and priced separately on the bid form. No single trade contract may exceed 50% of the lump sum base bid without written approval from construction manager Rockford Construction. Change order fees are fixed at 10% of labor costs, 10% of material and equipment costs, and 5% of trade contractor quotes. Michigan sales and use tax applies. All bids require sworn, notarized affidavits including familial relationship disclosures, Iran Economic Sanctions Act Certification, criminal background statements, non-collusive affidavits, legal status declarations, and equal opportunity forms. Questions must be submitted by September 10, 2026, and substitution requests by the same date. Public bid opening occurs November 3 at 3:00 p.m. at 4365 Hunsberger Avenue NE, with virtual Zoom attendance available. Post-bid interviews are scheduled November 4–25 via Zoom. Anticipated award date is December 15, 2026, with construction start in Fall 2027.
