About this opportunity
The City of Long Beach is requesting bids for non-OEM parts and repair services for fire apparatuses under ITB FM-25-570, with bids due March 13, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. A 10% local preference applies to Long Beach-based businesses with valid business licenses and seller's permits at bid submission.
The scope encompasses aftermarket parts and maintenance services for the City's fleet of over 130 pieces of emergency fire apparatus equipment and ambulances. Awardees must maintain a fire apparatus repair facility with adequate inventory and possess demonstrated knowledge and experience in non-OEM maintenance and repairs. The business location and replacement-parts inventory must be within an eighty-mile radius of the Fleet Services Bureau at 2600 Temple Avenue, Long Beach. All repairs must follow industry-accepted Uniform Repair Procedures from I-CGR or OEM sources. Pricing is submitted electronically through LongBeachBuys.buyspeed.com and must include fixed rates for in-field service, call-out, travel and mileage, parts (Like Kind Quality, aftermarket, and OEM), and specialized repairs such as radiator repair and fire pump analysis. Payment terms are NET/30 from invoice date. Awardees must provide a one-year unconditional warranty on all parts, materials, labor, and workmanship, and maintain commercial general liability insurance of $1 million per occurrence and $2 million general aggregate, workers' compensation of $1 million, and automobile liability of $500,000 combined single limit.
The contract term is two years with options to renew for three additional one-year periods, not to exceed five years total. The City does not guarantee minimum order quantities and reserves the right to award to multiple vendors or a single bidder. Questions are due March 5, 2025 at 11:00 a.m., with answers posted by March 7. The City issued a Notice of Intent to Award on March 20, 2025 to Fleetworks Inc., Harbor Diesel & Equipment Inc., and Los Angeles Truck Center LLC, based on lowest-responsive-bidder evaluation. An Equal Benefits Ordinance applies to contractors awarded contracts valued at $100,000 or more. Debarment certification is required.
