The City of Rocky Mount, North Carolina is requesting proposals for the upgrade of Substation 10 Transformer under RFP 320-040226FD REBID, with sealed bids due October 14, 2026 at 2:00 PM EST — a rebid following insufficient initial responses, with the original deadline of October 1 extended by two weeks.
The scope is a turnkey replacement and realignment project involving demolition, installation, and structural work at Substation 10 in Nash County. The contractor will drain and remove the existing 18 MVA, 69/15 kV transformer; remove the transformer pad and associated foundations; relocate an existing 15 kV breaker; replace two steel switch stands and their foundations; remove a section of cable trench; and install a new oil containment system, transformer, breaker, steel structures, grounding and bonding system (GOABS), and associated foundations. The work includes lifting and placement of the new transformer from a temporary pad to a permanent pad. The project is classified as Construction.
Bidders must acknowledge receipt of the addendum in their bid submission. All other terms, conditions, specifications, and requirements remain as stated in the original RFP unless modified by the addendum. Inquiries should be directed to Fantashia Dickens, Purchasing Associate III.
The source does not disclose estimated contract value, contract term, incumbent information, evaluation criteria, pre-bid meeting or site-visit dates, question deadline, or set-aside or preference programs.
