About this opportunity

The City of Calhoun Utilities Department is requesting sealed bids for construction of a two-million-gallon concrete pre-stressed ground storage tank at Fire Tower Road in Brogdon, with bids due September 4, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. Bidders must hold a valid State of Georgia Utility Contractor license and employ a certified Utility Manager — mandatory qualifications that filter eligibility.

The scope includes all labor, equipment, and materials for tank construction with deep foundational supports (aggregate columns), mixing system, yard piping, fencing, grading, soil stabilization, driveway reconstruction, and erosion control measures. Work must be completed within 240 consecutive calendar days as a single contract. The City will obtain all required federal, state, and local permits and rights-of-way prior to construction commencement.

Bid documents cost $125 per set (non-refundable) from the City of Calhoun Purchasing Department via Andrea L. Everett at (706) 602-5682 or aeverett@calnet-ga.net. Bidders must be on record with the City as having purchased complete documents for their bid to be considered. A bid bond or certified cashier's check equal to at least 10% of the base bid must accompany each proposal; the surety company must hold an "A" minimum rating and financial strength of at least five times the contract price. The successful bidder will provide Performance and Payment Bonds each equal to 100% of the contract price. All bids must remain valid for 60 days following closing. Contractors and subcontractors must register with E-Verify to comply with Georgia's Security and Immigration Compliance Act. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities.
