About this opportunity
The City of Lake City, located in Clay County, Florida, is pursuing a sole source procurement for network monitoring and maintenance software from Forward Networks. The contract opportunity, posted between September 9-19, 2022, seeks to acquire a comprehensive network management solution that creates a "digital twin" of network infrastructure. The software's key capabilities include searching and verifying network intent, predicting network behavior, preventing outages, and simplifying network management across diverse vendor environments. Forward Networks' solution offers protocol-independent and vendor-independent network modeling and analysis, with unique patented technologies that can systematically analyze network configurations, generate comprehensive network models, identify data flow paths, and verify policy compliance. The procurement is being conducted under Florida Statute 287.057(5)(3)(c) as a limited competition acquisition, with a specific due date of September 19, 2022, at 4:00 pm, and responses will be considered solely to determine whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
The contract opportunity appears to be a direct procurement without specific set-aside designations or restrictions on respondent types. The sole source request indicates that Forward Networks was selected after evaluating three vendors, with two solutions tested in a live environment. The software offers distinctive features including network packet tracing, a "Sandbox" mode for testing changes without impacting live systems, and the ability to simulate network modifications proactively. While specific budget ranges were not explicitly detailed in the documents, the procurement suggests a targeted, specialized technology acquisition for the City of Lake City's Information Technology Department. The sole source justification was signed by Matt Benedetti on September 8, 2022, indicating an intent to directly purchase from Forward Networks based on the unique capabilities not found in other vendors' solutions. No incumbent vendor information or specific integration requirements were explicitly outlined in the provided documentation.
