About this opportunity
The Parkway School District in Missouri is seeking qualified contractors to provide comprehensive network and fiber optic services at various district-wide locations through a competitive sealed bid procurement. The scope of work includes installation of new telecommunications systems; repair, relocation, removal, or replacement of existing telecommunications infrastructure such as receptacles, junction boxes, cable trays, raceways, and wiring; installation and maintenance of telecommunications equipment including racks, switches, and hubs; and other associated telecommunications work as directed by the District through work orders. Bidders must submit proposals electronically through the Parkway School District Bonfire Portal by May 20, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. CDT, with public opening scheduled for the same date and time. The anticipated Notice to Proceed is June 11, 2026, with substantial completion required by June 11, 2027. The District will award bids based on the lowest and best price while considering factors such as how well items meet specifications, vendor ability to supply required items, prior experience with the District, financial strength, and commitment to maintain inventory. Contractors must submit an AIA Document A305 Contractor's Qualification Statement with a recent financial statement, provide at least three references from educational institutions, submit information on proposed subcontractors requiring prior written approval, provide equipment warranties, and comply with prevailing wage requirements and OSHA ten-hour construction safety training. Pricing shall be submitted on a unit price basis for labor categories at regular, overtime, and double-time rates, plus charges for specialized services and equipment rental.
All successful contractors must be enrolled and actively participating in the federal E-Verify program and must execute a sworn affidavit confirming E-Verify compliance prior to or concurrent with contract execution. Contractors and all subcontractor employees must obtain security identification badges before accessing project sites, and all personnel must acknowledge asbestos and lead-based paint notifications prior to working on site. Bidders are required to submit an Affidavit of Non-Collusion certifying that bids have been independently developed without collusion with competitors or District employees. The District estimates spending approximately $300,000 over the initial one-year contract period, with the option to extend for up to two additional one-year periods at the District's sole discretion, though renewal is not guaranteed. Contractors must provide performance and payment bonds, maintain appropriate insurance coverage with the District named as additional insured, and comply with all delivery requirements to the District's Central Warehouse at 363 North Woods Mill Road, Chesterfield, Missouri. The District encourages purchase of United States-manufactured products and preferentially considers Missouri-manufactured products when quality, price, and delivery are approximately equal. Bids must remain valid for forty-five days after the closing date, and all work must be performed by a single Prime Contractor responsible for all portions of the work, with no individual bids by separate contractors for separate portions accepted.
