About this opportunity
Collier County Procurement Services is soliciting a lump-sum quote for professional conservation services on 41 museum objects that sustained water damage during Hurricane Ian in 2022 at the Naples Depot Museum, located at 1051 5th Avenue South, Naples, Florida, with quotes due October 14, 2026 at 3:00 p.m.
Award will be made to the responsive vendor submitting the lowest quote. Vendors must hold membership or accreditation with a professional conservator organization and demonstrate a minimum of two years of verifiable conservation work experience. Required documentation includes Florida Division of Corporations business status proof, E-Verify enrollment confirmation, W-9 Form, and applicable professional licenses.
The scope encompasses conservation labor, personnel, equipment, tools, supplies, and materials for 41 objects constructed from metal, wood, textiles, leather, and combinations thereof, including benches, railroad tools, office furniture, wagons, and train carts. Objects range from small hand tools to large transportation equipment. Some conservation work must occur on-site during the museum's operating hours; smaller items requiring treatment are handled off-site due to space constraints. The conservator is responsible for safe handling, packaging, transportation, and security of all objects; photographic documentation; and a comprehensive Treatment Report detailing conservation techniques, materials used, and maintenance recommendations.
The contract is a one-time purchase during fiscal year 2027 (October 1, 2026 through September 30, 2027), with prices remaining firm for the duration of the purchase order. Vendors must maintain comprehensive insurance including workers' compensation, employer's liability ($500,000), commercial general liability ($1,000,000 per occurrence / $2,000,000 aggregate), automobile liability ($1,000,000), and professional liability ($1,000,000 per claim and aggregate), with Collier County named as an additional insured and 30 days' cancellation notice required. Questions are due October 7, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. All submissions must be made through the Collier County Procurement Portal at https://procurement.opengov.com/portal/collier-county-fl.
