About this opportunity
Arlington County, Virginia is requesting bids on Fire Station 8 HVAC replacement under ITB N1490, with bids due October 16, 2026. All bids must be submitted through PRISM+; submissions via eVA will not be accepted.
The scope includes removal of the existing roof-mounted 25-ton air handling unit and replacement with a new 30-ton unit designed to maintain 68 degrees at 50 to 60% humidity on a 24/7 basis. The new unit incorporates an enthalpy wheel to increase energy efficiency by transferring sensible and latent energy from toilet and bath exhaust air to incoming outdoor air. Work includes minor structural reinforcement to support the increased load, minor modifications to existing ductwork, removal and replacement of acoustical tile ceiling in the Day Room and adjacent corridor, and adjustment of sprinkler systems to the new ceiling height. The facility is a three-story steel-framed structure built to 2015 Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code standards with a single-ply, fully adhered EPDM roof.
Solicitation documents are available through PRISM+. Existing active suppliers have been migrated to PRISM+ and should contact their County representative to enable user accounts; new suppliers must complete a separate registration process and select relevant product and service categories for future solicitation notifications.
