About this opportunity

Beaufort County is seeking proposals for an annual maintenance agreement to service and repair municipal solid waste (MSW) compactors and receiving containers across four Convenient Centers in South Carolina. The Request for Proposal (RFP #032625) targets licensed firms capable of providing comprehensive maintenance and repair services for 20 compactors located in Bluffton, Hilton Head, Shanklin, and St. Helena. Proposers must demonstrate expertise in MSW compactor maintenance, offering detailed preventative maintenance plans and emergency repair response capabilities. The solicitation requires electronic proposal submission through the Procurement Portal, with proposals due on March 26, 2025, at 3:00 pm EST. A non-mandatory pre-proposal virtual meeting is scheduled for March 7, 2025, at 2:00 pm EST. The evaluation process will assess proposals across four key criteria: Approach and Service Plan (25 points), Cost Proposal and Value (25 points), Experience and Qualifications (25 points), and Availability, Responsiveness, and Customer Service (25 points).

The RFP does not specify specific set-aside designations or restrictions for disadvantaged enterprises. Proposers must provide comprehensive insurance coverage, including Workers' Compensation, Commercial General Liability, Comprehensive Automobile Liability, and Umbrella Liability with specific minimum coverage amounts. While the exact contract value is not explicitly stated, the scope encompasses maintenance for 20 compactors across four county locations, suggesting a potentially significant annual contract. The county reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and will select the most advantageous offer based on the established evaluation criteria.
