About this opportunity
Maine State Prison is requesting quotations for two body orifice security scanners, Xeku BOSS II or documented equivalent models, with quotes due December 24, 2014. Awards will be made on a best-value basis.
The scope consists of two non-contact, non-intrusive scanners with five detection zones (oral, back, seat, leg, and foot), audio and visual alarms, and adjustable sensitivity. Equipment must detect metal, weapons, cell phones, and prison contraband; operate on 110/220 VAC power; accommodate all populations including pregnant women and individuals with pacemakers; and meet approximate dimensions of 50 inches high by 51 inches long by 22 inches wide. A minimum two-year warranty is mandatory, and bids lacking warranty information will be rejected. Bidders may propose optional battery backup kits and must address willingness to extend pricing to Maine political subdivisions and school districts. All freight and delivery charges must be included in bid pricing.
The Maine State Prison is located at 807 Cushing Road, Warren, Maine. Evaluation criteria include specifications compliance, price, warranty coverage, and delivery terms. Vendor questions must be submitted through the designated Question and Answer link on the solicitation details page.
Under Maine procurement rules, the State is exempt from Federal and Maine State sales and use taxes; bidders must quote without these taxes. In tie-bid situations, awards are given to in-state bidders or those offering commodities produced or manufactured in Maine. All transportation charges shall be prepaid by the contractor unless otherwise specified. Contractors must furnish items exactly as specified; any deviation is grounds for rejection. Compliance with Federal, State, and local laws is required, including the Maine Chemical Substance Identification Law.
