About this file

This is a request for quotation (RFQ) specification document issued by the Maine State Prison for the procurement of body orifice security scanners. The Maine State Prison seeks two units of Xeku BOSS II scanners or documented equivalent models to be delivered to its facility located at 807 Cushing Road, Warren, Maine. The scanners must feature five detection zones (oral, back, seat, leg, and foot), audio and visual alarms, adjustable sensitivity settings, and non-intrusive, non-contact technology suitable for all populations including pregnant women and individuals with pacemakers. The equipment must detect metal, weapons, cell phones, and other prison contraband, operate on 110/220 VAC power, and have approximate dimensions of 50 inches high by 51 inches long by 22 inches wide. Bidders may propose optional equipment such as battery backup kits and must include comprehensive warranty information with their proposals.

The award will be made on a best value basis considering specifications compliance, price, warranty coverage, and delivery terms. All freight and delivery charges must be included in bid pricing, and equivalent bid items require detailed specifications for approval by the Maine State Prison. A minimum two-year warranty is mandatory, and bids lacking warranty information will be rejected. Bidders must address their willingness to extend contract pricing to political subdivisions and school districts in Maine. All vendor questions regarding the RFQ must be submitted through the designated Question and Answer link on the solicitation details page, with responses posted for vendor access.
