About this opportunity

Pinellas County School District is soliciting sealed electronic bids for motor vehicle batteries, with bids due at 3:00 p.m. on August 19, 2026, via the District e-Procurement Portal at https://procurement.opengov.com/portal/PCSB.

The District will give consideration to prices established by the State of Florida Department of Management Services, Division of Purchasing through its existing contracts and negotiated agreements. Bidders must register and download solicitation documents directly from the OpenGov portal to receive automatic notifications of addenda and question responses; documents obtained from other sources do not trigger automatic notification, and the District will not be responsible for bidders missing subsequent addendums.

Contractors awarded a contract must obtain all required insurance within ten working days of award and file Certificates of Insurance before commencing work. General Liability Insurance is required with minimum limits of $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 general aggregate (or $5,000,000 general aggregate for projects $500,000 and over), including coverage for premises operations, independent contractors' protective liability, and broad contractual liability. Automotive Liability Insurance with a $300,000 Combined Single Limit covering owned, non-owned, hired, and rented vehicles is mandatory. Workers' Compensation Insurance meeting Florida statutory requirements is required with Employer's Liability limits of $100,000 per accident, $500,000 disease policy limit, and $100,000 disease per employee. The School Board must be listed as both an Additional Insured and Certificate Holder on all policies. Insurance companies must maintain a Best's Financial Strength Rating of "A-V" or better. The District requires 10 days' notice of cancellation and 30 days' notice for non-renewal on all policies. All deductibles are the contractor's sole responsibility.

The District strongly recommends bidders complete submissions well ahead of the deadline. No responses will be accepted after the deadline regardless of technical difficulties; the District e-Procurement Portal clock is the official timekeeper for all deadline determinations.
