About this opportunity

The State of Maine, Division of Purchases, is requesting bids for modular furniture components in the Action Office Series II (AOII) configuration, with bids due October 19, 2010.

The scope includes modular panel systems with specified fabric and window configurations; structural components such as wall start kits, power in-feed bases, draw rods, and finished end kits; work surfaces in Pionite Kale Fiber (four at 24×48, one at 24×51.5, two at 24×36, and one corner configuration); one electric adjustable table base; 110 yards of fabric; eight custom front surface pieces; and three refurbished 48-inch flipper doors plus one additional flipper door. The parts list indicates a mixed procurement incorporating both new components and reuse of existing furniture elements.

Awards will be made to the lowest responsible bidder offering best value to the State. Bidders must submit separate unit prices for each item with all costs delivered to destination, including applicable discounts. The State is exempt from Federal and Maine State Sales and Use Taxes and expects quotes without these taxes. Transportation and delivery charges must be prepaid by the contractor unless otherwise specified. Cash discounts of less than 20 days will not be considered in award determinations. The Division reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive formalities, increase or decrease quantities by up to 10%, and resolve tie bids by awarding to in-state bidders or those offering Maine-manufactured products.

Contractors must comply with all Federal, State, and local laws, cannot assign or sublet without written Director consent, and are subject to removal from the bidder register after three consecutive bid failures.
