About this opportunity

The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) has issued an Invitation for Bid (IFB605CO22001765) for the procurement of two new 2022-2023 Medium Duty Truck Chassis with a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating of 25,995 lbs. The trucks will be delivered to the MoDOT Northeast District located in Macon, Missouri, with a firm delivery and invoice deadline of June 1, 2022. The solicitation seeks qualified vendors to provide complete truck chassis that meet specific minimum specifications, with MoDOT reserving the right to inspect and test the units prior to final acceptance. Bids can be submitted electronically through the MissouriBUYS system or by mail, with the bid period running from March 21, 2022, at 3:00 PM GMT to April 12, 2022, at 7:00 PM GMT. The evaluation of bids will be based on a 100-point scale, with 45 points allocated to pricing, 30 points to availability and proximity of dealer parts and service, and 25 points to options, features, and past performance. MoDOT reserves the option to purchase from multiple vendors to obtain the required quantity of vehicles.

The solicitation encourages participation from Minority Business Enterprises (MBE) and Women Business Enterprises (WBE), with a goal of 10% MBE and 5% WBE participation through subcontractors, suppliers, or joint ventures. The bid requires compliance with the Domestic Products Procurement Act and includes provisions for Buy America requirements for purchases over $25,000. Vendors must provide standard warranty information and comply with biodiesel fuel requirements of B-20 content as specified in RSMo 414.365. Liquidated damages of $250 per day per item will be assessed for late delivery. While no specific budget range is explicitly stated, the procurement is for two medium-duty truck chassis, and vendors must provide a net delivered firm price that includes all delivery, handling, and other charges. MoDOT will not pay any additional surcharges beyond the submitted bid price, and the contract will be awarded to the lowest and best responsive bidder based on the comprehensive evaluation criteria.
