About this opportunity
The City of Weatherford Public Works Department is requesting sealed bids for miscellaneous trucking services on an as-needed basis, with bids due September 22, 2026 at 2:30 p.m. at 303 Palo Pinto Street.
The scope requires hauling hot mix asphalt concrete, excavated dirt material, and other standard construction-site materials within Weatherford and to regional asphalt plants in Millsap and Fort Worth, Texas. The contractor must provide up to five 12-cubic-yard dump trucks per project. All trucks and drivers must comply with U.S. Department of Transportation, Texas Department of Transportation, and applicable federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
Bidders must submit hourly rates across five service categories: Monday–Friday (7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.), weekends, statutory holidays, overtime, and emergency call-out services. All pricing is all-inclusive, covering driver, fuel, truck maintenance, labor, tools, equipment, transportation, supervision, disposal fees, permit fees, and other required items. Hourly billing begins when the driver arrives at the job site, asphalt plant, or public works material yard. Prices for the initial contract term are fixed; rate adjustments require written request with supporting documentation at least 60 days before contract expiration, subject to City approval.
The contract commences on the purchase-order effective date and expires September 30, 2026, with automatic renewal for up to three additional one-year periods (October 1 through September 30) unless either party provides 60 days' written notice of non-renewal. The contractor must maintain comprehensive general liability insurance of $1 million, workers' compensation with statutory employer's liability of $1 million, and automobile liability with combined single limits of at least $1 million, with the City named as additional insured.
