About this opportunity

The Dekalb County Board of Health (DCBOH) in Georgia is seeking proposals for a limited number of community outreach projects to increase COVID-19 and flu vaccination awareness and vaccination rates in DeKalb County. The projects should prioritize services to underinsured and uninsured individuals through routine adult vaccination efforts, including but not limited to COVID-19, flu, shingles, pneumonia, and Hepatitis B in communities with low adult vaccination rates. Applicants must submit proposals by August 31, 2024, and the projects are expected to be completed by August 2028, with the possibility of four additional annual renewals. Mini-grant funds can be used for community outreach events, trusted messenger training, printing/copies, workshops/town halls, PPE, and stipends/incentives, but cannot be used for food, vaccine purchases, dues, capital improvements, or other restricted items. Applicants must submit a proposed budget with justification, not to exceed $10,000, and DCBOH will reimburse grantees for approved expenses.

The RFP does not specify any set-aside designations or restrictions on the types of organizations that can respond. The RFP also does not list any incumbent vendors or current contractors, nor does it mention any existing infrastructure or technology that requires integration. The total budget for this opportunity is not provided, but individual grants will not exceed $10,000.

Opportunity text

The Dekalb County Board of Health (DCBOH) is seeking proposals for a limited number of community outreach projects to increase DeKalb County¿s COVID-19 and flu vaccination awareness and vaccination rate. COVID-19/flu vaccinations are one of the most effective tools we have to fight these illnesses. The flu and COVID-19 vaccination rate is especially low among certain racial and ethnic groups making these groups at risk for serious illness from COVID-19 and the flu.
