About this opportunity
The Madison Metropolitan Sewerage District (MMSD) is seeking sealed bids for the procurement of twelve automated knife gate valves, specifically 10-inch stainless steel valves (Trueline KF8112RSV10-1W-CY6 or approved alternative). This Request for Bid (RFB) was posted on May 28, 2025, with sealed bids due by 11:00 a.m. CDT on June 12, 2025, at the district office located at 1610 Moorland Road in Madison, Wisconsin. Bidders must be in the business of providing automated knife gate valves for at least three years and provide a written warranty for new parts free of defects. The procurement requires bidders to complete and submit Bid Form A and the Bidder Response Sheet (Attachment C). Evaluation criteria will focus on the lowest responsive and responsible bidder meeting all specifications, with MMSD reserving the right to reject any or all bids. Any questions regarding the bid should be directed to Chad Liddicoat via email at rfp@madsewer.org. The bid documents are available on the district website at https://www.madsewer.org/contracting-center/.
The solicitation does not explicitly mention specific set-aside designations or restrictions for disadvantaged enterprises. The district is federal and state tax-exempt, and the contract may be split into two purchases due to budgetary constraints. While no incumbent vendors are identified, the bid specifications indicate that any approved equal valve must be able to replace the existing model without modifications. The procurement is for a lump sum purchase, with all prices to be bid in U.S. Dollars. The bid does not specify a precise budget range or award value, but it involves the purchase of twelve automated knife gate valves to be delivered to the MMSD facility. Interested vendors should carefully review the full specifications and ensure compliance with all bidding requirements, including the submission of all required documentation and adherence to the technical specifications for the valves.
