About this opportunity
The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency (MDEA) is requesting quotations for a mechanical assist or powered high-density mobile shelving evidence storage system, with quotations due August 19, 2013 and a mandatory site visit scheduled for August 9, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. The solicitation specifies Spacesaver Mobile Systems as the preferred vendor, which narrows the competitive field significantly.
The scope is to optimize approximately 1,700 square feet of storage space at 312 Canco Road in Portland for controlled substances, firearms, and non-drug evidence. The system must provide a minimum of 600 linear feet of shelving for controlled substances and 550 linear feet for non-drug items, accommodate standard bins or boxes in 18-inch depth with 36-inch row width, and store a minimum of 74 rifles/shotguns and 60 handguns. Bidders must submit separate quotes for both mechanical assist and powered system options.
All pricing must be inclusive of product, freight, inside delivery, and installation costs. The target installation date is the last week of September 2013. The state reserves the right to accept all or some items in the purchase order award and will increase or decrease ordered quantities by up to 10% at agreed-upon pricing. Standard payment terms are net 30 days from receipt of a correct invoice, and the State of Maine is exempt from all federal and state taxes, which should not be included in quoted prices.
Bidders must submit quotations electronically through the State of Maine's Vendor Self Service platform, with questions posted through the VSS Question and Answer function. Contact Roy McKinney, MDEA Director, at 626-3852 for additional information.
