About this opportunity
The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency (MDEA) is soliciting quotes for a high-density mobile shelving evidence storage system at 312 Canco Road in Portland, with a due date of August 5, 2013 and a mandatory site visit and walk-through on August 9, 2013 at 10:00 a.m.
The procurement specifically seeks Spacesaver Mobile Systems. Vendors must submit separate quotes for both mechanical-assist and powered system options, with all pricing to include product, freight, inside delivery, and installation costs.
The system must optimize approximately 1,700 square feet of storage space and accommodate controlled substances, firearms, and non-drug evidence. Required capacity includes a minimum of 600 linear feet of shelving for controlled substances, 550 linear feet for non-drug items, storage for a minimum of 74 rifles and shotguns, and storage for 60 handguns. Shelving specifications call for 18-inch depth, 36-inch row width, 12-inch bin height, individual and unit-level locking capabilities, and dividing panels to isolate drug evidence and firearms from general non-drug items.
The target installation date is the last week of September 2013. Award will be made on a best-value basis considering how closely vendors meet specifications while taking price and delivery into consideration. The State reserves the right to accept all or some items in the purchase order award and to increase or decrease quantities by 10%. The State is exempt from Federal and Maine sales and use taxes and expects quotes to exclude these taxes. A preference for in-state bidders or those offering Maine-produced or Maine-manufactured commodities applies in the event of tie quotes. Vendors must submit questions through the designated Question and Answer link on the Solicitation Details View page, with responses posted in the same location.
