About this opportunity

The state of Illinois, through the Department of Central Management Services, has issued an Invitation for Bid (IFB) for the procurement of Mosquito Larvicide. The purpose of this contract is to establish a 3-year agreement that will enable state agencies, local government units, and qualified non-profit organizations to purchase various mosquito larvicide products on an as-needed basis. The IFB specifies that all products must have EPA registration, a "Caution" signal word, and be in solid, pre-packaged formulations such as briquettes, tablets, or water-soluble packets. Bids are due on July 9, 2018 by 10:45 AM, and awards will be made to the lowest responsible bidder on a line item basis. Pricing shall be F.O.B. destination with no additional charges allowed, and economic price adjustments will be permitted annually based on the Producer Price Index (PPI) for agricultural pesticides.

The contract does not include any small business, minority, or veteran set-aside requirements, and the state may partially or fully fund the contract with federal funds. The contract has been awarded to two vendors - Clarke Mosquito Control Products and Adapco, LLC - for a total contract value of $3,539,999.66 over the 36-month term with no renewal options. The awarded contract does not specify any incumbent vendors or information about the current environment, and the justification for the award determination indicates it was reasonable and in the best interest of the state.
