About this opportunity
The Colorado Department of Corrections is requesting quotes for mattress cores for Colorado Correctional Industries under DQ 2027-0046, with quotes due August 21, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. Mountain Standard Time and written inquiries due August 14, 2026. Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses are encouraged to apply.
The scope covers high-resiliency foam mattress cores with a minimum thickness of 3 inches, dimensions of 30 inches wide by 76 inches long, high-density material construction rated for a minimum five-year life expectancy. The initial order is 3,375 cores, with ongoing as-needed purchases to follow. Bidders are encouraged to submit optional 6-inch-plus mattress core options for incentive units. All pricing must be all-inclusive with no additional shipping costs, surcharges, or taxes to the state; vendors are responsible for delivery logistics. Deliveries must occur Monday through Thursday between 7:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. to the Mattress Shop at Fremont Correctional Facility in Canon City, Colorado. Pricing must remain firm throughout the purchase order term. All delivery drivers must pass background checks, and the awarded bidder assumes full responsibility for contraband prevention.
The initial purchase order term runs through June 30, 2027, with renewal options for up to four additional one-year periods at CDOC's sole discretion. Award will be made to the responsible bidder whose acceptable quote is most advantageous to CDOC, with price as the primary evaluation factor and sample quality and lead time as secondary considerations. Prior to award, the successful bidder must provide proof of good standing with the Colorado Secretary of State, a certificate of insurance, and complete CDOC's Enhanced Criminal Background Investigation within 30 days. All contractor personnel must consent to search authorizations, criminal history checks, background screening, fingerprinting, and drug testing. Bidders must register with CORE through the Vendor Self-Service system and complete required exhibits including statement of work response, vendor information, W-9 form, price proposal, contract performance disclosure, and non-conflict of interest certification.
