About this opportunity
The State of Maine is requesting bids for a master agreement on Vertx1000 brand uniform pants, with bids due January 3, 2014. This is a volume-based supply agreement enabling Maine state agencies to procure uniform pants on an as-needed basis at pre-negotiated pricing and terms.
Bidders must submit a State Purchasing Code of Conduct Affidavit affirming compliance with workplace laws, ethical labor practices, and human rights obligations. The affidavit requires complete disclosure of all physical plant locations where assembly occurs and mandates that bidders provide a copy of the purchasing code to each supplier and obtain their affirmation of compliance. Under penalty of perjury, bidders must certify that they and their suppliers comply with all applicable wage, health, labor, environmental, and safety laws; legal guarantees of freedom of association; building and fire codes; and all laws prohibiting discrimination based on race, disability, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, or civic affiliation. Bidders must also confirm compliance with human and labor rights treaty obligations shared by the United States and the country of assembly, including prohibitions against forced labor, child labor, involuntary prison labor, physical and sexual abuse, and restrictions on freedom of association. The completed affidavit must be submitted via fax to Kathy Paquette at 207-287-6578 no later than the bid opening date and time.
Bid submissions must include detailed pricing schedules and product specifications for the Vertx1000 uniform pants being offered, along with the bidder's commercial terms and conditions applicable to the master agreement. The State of Maine reserves the right to reject any or all bids, cancel the solicitation, or waive minor irregularities in the bidding process. All bidders must acknowledge receipt of any addenda and comply with state and federal regulations applicable to public procurement.
