About this opportunity

The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) is requesting proposals for a markerless motion capture data collection system under RFP, with proposals due October 27, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. EST via the South Carolina procurement website. A non-mandatory pre-proposal conference is scheduled for September 28, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. EST via Microsoft Teams, and questions are due the same day at 5:00 p.m. EST.

The scope is a research-grade optical motion capture system for biomechanics, neurorehabilitation, and human performance research, with primary application in gait analysis. The system must include a minimum of twelve synchronized cameras providing coverage of a 15 feet × 40 feet capture volume, integration with the Theia3D markerless analysis platform, and compatibility with external data sources including EMG, force plates, and inertial measurement units. The vendor must deliver a data collection and processing computer, synchronization control unit, calibration and processing workflows with data export in C3D, TXT, and CSV formats, onsite installation and setup, user training, manufacturer warranty, and technical support available within three business days of request. Delivery is required within sixty days after receipt of purchase order.

All vendors must obtain a South Carolina vendor number prior to submission and register with the state. Vendors must carry commercial general liability and auto liability insurance with minimum limits of $1 million per occurrence and information security and privacy coverage of $5 million per occurrence and $10 million aggregate. All contractor personnel must obtain MUSC identification badges, including background checks and possible drug and tuberculosis testing.

Proposals must include one technical proposal, one business proposal with a comprehensive fixed-price cost breakdown in Excel format (initial setup, monthly, and maintenance costs), and a redacted copy of each. Award notification is scheduled for November 10, 2026. Evaluation considers technical compliance and functionality, security and compliance, implementation approach and timeline, demonstrated experience in medical universities, and overall best value to MUSC.
