About this opportunity
Marion County Board of Commissioners, Georgia, is requesting bids for asphalt overlay resurfacing on Buffalo Road (County Road 64) under ITB solicitation 2021 LMIG, with bids due September 30, 2021. The work is funded through Georgia's Local Maintenance and Improvement Grant (LMIG) program.
The scope covers furnishing all labor, equipment, and materials for asphalt overlay on approximately 2.80 miles of county road, beginning at SR-352 and ending at Pineknot Road. The work is located in Marion County.
Addendum 1, posted August 31, 2021, establishes Proposal Guaranty requirements: bidders must submit a surety bond equal to a specified percentage of the bid amount (percentage and dollar amount to be completed by the bidder). The surety bond guarantees that the successful bidder will enter into the contract and provide required performance and payment bonds. If the principal contractor fails to enter into the contract or provide necessary bonds, the surety is obligated to pay the difference between the original bid amount and any higher cost incurred by Marion County when contracting with another party, not to exceed the penalty amount of the bond. Signatures from both principal contractor and surety, along with witnesses for each party, are required on all documents.
