About this opportunity
The County of Marin Public Works Department is requesting bids on interior renovation of the Marin City Fire Station dormitory floors under Project No. CAP 41C2511, with bids due November 5, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. and a mandatory pre-bid conference on October 20, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at 850 Drake Avenue, Sausalito, California. Attendance at the pre-bid conference is required for bid eligibility.
The scope encompasses demolition of three existing dormitories and construction of six new dormitories on the first and second floors, including walls, doors, ceilings, lighting, and finishes. The project includes replacement of three fixed windows to be made operable and construction of two new operable windows; removal of two window trellises with relocation of one; interior accessibility upgrades to the first floor accessible restroom; exterior accessibility upgrades to the path of travel; and hazardous material and asbestos abatement.
Contractors must possess a valid General "A" or General "B" license at the time of bid submittal and shall identify appropriately licensed specialty subcontractors for Electrical (C-10), Structural (C-51), HVAC (C-20), and Plumbing (C-36) trades, with all subcontractor license numbers required in the bid submission. Failure to comply with licensing requirements renders bids non-responsive. Bids must cover the entire scope of work.
The engineer's estimated cost is $850,000. Pre-bid questions are due by 5:00 p.m. on October 30, 2026 via BidExpress. Electronic submissions are accepted through BidExpress.
