About this opportunity

The state and local contract opportunity involves the MARC Odenton Station Renovation project, a comprehensive renovation initiative located in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. The procurement seeks a contractor to perform extensive station building renovations, including selective demolition, architectural finish replacements, interior and exterior painting, door and window replacements, signage updates, and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing system upgrades. Key deliverables include installing a temporary ticket office within an existing historic bank building, providing temporary ADA-accessible sanitary facilities, implementing a permanent power generator, and constructing drainage infrastructure with associated site repairs. The project requires precise installation of temporary and permanent safety fencing, with specific instructions to remove temporary installations upon project completion and restore affected surfaces to their original condition. The final advertisement indicates a response deadline of December 12, 2024, with the procurement managed through Maryland state and local government channels.

While specific set-aside designations are not explicitly detailed in the provided documentation, the project appears to be a standard public infrastructure renovation opportunity open to qualified contractors. No incumbent vendors or current contractors are mentioned in the available information. The project scope suggests a complex renovation requiring comprehensive construction capabilities, potentially involving specialized contractors with experience in historic building restoration, transportation infrastructure, and municipal facility upgrades. Although precise budget ranges are not specified, the extensive scope of work—including demolition, infrastructure improvements, temporary facility management, and permanent installations—indicates a substantial capital investment. Interested contractors should anticipate demonstrating significant technical expertise in multi-phase renovation projects, municipal transportation facility upgrades, and compliance with state and local government construction standards.
