About this opportunity
The City of Newark, New Jersey is seeking bids for Invitation to Bid (ITB) #2025-11, a comprehensive maintenance and repair contract for trucks over one (1) ton capacity, specifically targeting mechanical repair services for the city's vehicle fleet. The procurement is focused on repairs for vehicles manufactured by GMC, Volvo/White, Ford, Crane Carrier, and Auto Car, with bidders required to quote hourly labor rates and percentage discounts off manufacturers' parts price lists. Successful vendors must be New Jersey-licensed emissions repair facilities and diesel emission inspection centers, capable of providing complete mechanical services including engine repairs, front end suspension, exhaust systems, pistons, and hydraulic system work. Bidders are expected to provide detailed estimates, use genuine or equivalent quality parts, and guarantee manufacturer parts under their original warranty and labor for 90 calendar days. The electronic bid submission is due on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at 10:15 am through the City's e-Procurement Portal, with bids to be publicly opened and read aloud immediately thereafter.
The contract opportunity does not explicitly outline specific set-aside designations for disadvantaged enterprises, though the vendor submission forms include robust equal employment opportunity and non-discrimination requirements. Vendors must complete multiple compliance documents, including statements on ownership disclosure, investment activities in Iran, Americans with Disabilities Act compliance, and political contribution disclosures. While no specific budget range is mentioned, repairs estimated to exceed $21,000 will be subject to separate public bidding processes. The contract is structured for a two-year period, with vendors responsible for vehicle pickup, return, and comprehensive repair services without additional transportation charges. Potential bidders must carefully review all attached documentation, including the Vendor_Submission_Forms.pdf and Disclosure_of_Iran_Investments_(New).pdf, to ensure full compliance with Newark's municipal contract regulations and submission requirements.
