About this opportunity

The City of Newark, New Jersey is seeking bids for Bid 2024-32, which involves maintenance and repair services for trucks over one (1) ton capacity through the city's e-Procurement Portal. The procurement is specifically for Essex County and will be conducted electronically, with bids accepted until 10:15 am on Thursday, August 22, 2024. Vendors must submit all materials through the OpenGov bid submission system, with strict adherence to the posted deadline, as no late submissions will be accepted. Potential bidders are required to complete comprehensive vendor submission forms, including mandatory equal employment opportunity documentation, Americans with Disabilities Act compliance attachments, ownership disclosure statements, and vendor qualification questionnaires. Evaluation criteria will likely include the vendor's ability to demonstrate technical capabilities, compliance with municipal requirements, and capacity to perform maintenance and repair services on large trucks efficiently and effectively.

The procurement appears to have several significant compliance requirements that may restrict or impact vendor eligibility. Vendors must complete a Disclosure of Investment Activities in Iran form, certifying under penalty of perjury that they are not engaged in prohibited investment activities. The contract opportunity includes provisions for disadvantaged business participation, with detailed requirements around non-discrimination and equal employment opportunity. While specific award values are not explicitly stated, the comprehensive nature of the submission requirements suggests a significant municipal contract with potential ongoing maintenance needs. Vendors must provide detailed information about their business, including employee count, business type, references, and potential criminal background disclosures. Political contribution disclosures are also mandatory, reflecting the city's commitment to transparency in the procurement process. Interested vendors must carefully review all attached documentation and ensure full compliance with the city's stringent contractual and administrative requirements.
