About this opportunity

Palm Beach County Engineering and Public Works Department has issued an RFI for roadway, signing, signalization, lighting, and tree-disposition work on Lyons Road from north of the L-30 Canal to Boynton Beach Boulevard under contract opportunities 2018503 and 2020110, with a listed due date of November 3, 2026. Where an affirmative procurement initiative (API) goal is established, respondents using subcontractors must submit OSBD Schedules 1, 2, and 2(a), and omitting them results in a non-responsive determination. Only firms certified by Palm Beach County as of the solicitation due date count toward OSBD goals.

Qualifications require at least two similar projects completed within the past five years, with at least one performed under the bidder's firm name. Bidders must also provide resumes for key staff at superintendent level or above, a schedule of owned equipment or rental-company letters confirming availability, and a signed Qualifications and Experience Certification Statement. The Department may request additional documentation under General Provision 2-1.5, including FDOT Form 525-010-46, financial resources, licensure, and letters of final acceptance.

Scope spans both projects. Project 2018503 includes 58 single-column ground sign assemblies, 2,398 raised pavement markers, 3,783 linear feet of 12-inch thermoplastic markings, three mast arm assemblies, seven vehicular signals, 21 loop detectors, 55 lighting poles, and tree removal and retention across more than 700 trees, with protective barricades required around retained trees. Project 2020110 includes two mast arm assemblies, nine signal heads, two drilled shaft foundations, 379 raised pavement markers, and one 175-watt LED cobrahead luminaire with one light pole relocation. Signal work requires a 90-day burn-in period after conditional acceptance, coordination with FPL for power service, and shop drawing submittals within 30 days. Traffic control plans must be submitted at least two weeks in advance, and no lane closures are permitted during AM and PM peak hours.

Questions go by email to ENG-RoadwayBids@PBC.GOV with the subject line "RFI: 2018503 & 2020110 Lyons Road L30 to Boynton Bch Blvd," and the RFI form requires company name, address, contact details, and questions. Respondents' email addresses are public records under Florida law.
